At Belluccio, we recommend getting ideas and start trying styles on 9 to 12 months before the wedding, to ensure you have a strong understanding of the overall style and details, however as trends change every couple of months, purchasing too far in advanced can also result in you wearing an outdated design by the time it comes to your wedding day and can also result in lengthy and expensive alterations needing to be carried out due to wedding weight loss. At Belluccio, we recommend getting started 3 to 6 months before the wedding to ensure your measurements are accurate and the stye is a true reflection of what you have in mind for the big day.

Deciding between Custom Made or Off-The Rack?
You’ll be surprised at the hidden costs and drawbacks of off-the-rack wedding dresses. More and more brides are opting for a custom dress after facing off-the-rack regrets. You might save more time, but fitting results are often lacklustre and disappointing - the last thing you’d want to feel on your special day.
- Designer off-the-rack wedding dresses of similar quality to our custom made ones tend to be 50% more expensive even without alterations (you end up paying for the brand)
- Brides-to-be end up spending 30-70% more than expected after altering off-the-rack dresses to their size
- They get stressed out by lengthy alteration processes and don’t end up with the exact wedding dress look in mind anyway
- Beading not placed in a flattering way
- Zips breaking on the wedding day itself (our dresses are buttoned to prevent this)
- Designs and silhouettes don’t end up sitting well when the dress was bought too far in advance
- Hard to find modest designs that are still modern and flattering
Why clients come to us after buying off-the-rack dresses:

Since then, Julie has showcased not one, but two collections at New York Fashion Week in 2014 and 2015 under the Belluccio brand. Garnering the attention of Miss Australia & Miss Universe pageants, Belluccio has since grown mainly through word-of-mouth, appearing in many publicised occasions such as the Brownlows and other noteworthy red-carpet events.
